Tampa Bay started the game off with a 60+ yard interception returned for Touchdown by Cato June to take an early lead against the Broncos.

The Broncos answered with an excellent march down the field to tie the game at 7-7 with a 3 yard TD run by R. Torian.

It was a defensive struggle throught the whole game. Denver picked off 3 passes by Jeff Garcia and for a while they had the Buccaneers number.
A few questionable calls went against the Buccaneers that put them in a bind for a while with their backs against the endzone just feet away from a saftey.

The Buccaneers were able to drive down field and scored to take a 14-7 lead with a 7 yard TD pass to Warrick Dunn.

With time ticking down in the first half the Broncos went into a hurry up offense and were able to march down field again to score another TD run.
It was a drive that would not only tie the game at the end of the half, but give the broncos a chance to come into the second half with possession and take control of the game.

But the Buccaneers had other things in mind and were able to stop the Broncos first possession.
Jeff Garcia found Joey Galloway on a WR Screen that would go to the house and give the Buccaneers the lead for good in what seemed to be a very hard fought game.

Denver had 2 chances late in the fourth to win the game when Adrian Peterson fumbled on Denvers 5 yard line and fumbled again after getting a first down that would of put the game away for good. Denver failed to score in the final possesion with time running out.

Said Gruden of Tonights matchup-

"They never went away, they played some great defense, they are an awesome team and we respect their organization. Our guys just wanted it more and we were able to capitalize on a few mismatches."

When asked about the late defensive calls that went against the Buccaneers that could of easily gave the Broncos the game-

"I don't want to get fined.."


If you ask me, I'd say at that point in time, the NFL gods swayed towards the Broncos and it wasn't hard to see. The Buccaneers pulled out one hell of a game.
